Certification Program Title:Welder (Basic Knowledge) with TÜV Rheinland Certified Qualification
Admission Requirements:
  1. Class 10th standard / Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) & above
    Or alternatively
    Suitably qualified professionals, who want to upgrade their qualifications, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in welding
  2. Successful participation in the Karnataka German Technical Training qualification “Welder (Basic Knowledge) with TÜV Rheinland Certified Qualification” based on ASME welding codes and DIN EN ISO 9606 with a duration of 450 hours and recognized by the personnel certification body. The admission to the exam is granted with a minimum participation of 90%.

  • Practical exam 
  • Oral exam (Viva voce) 
Required Competencies:

In the examination participants prove their knowledge in the following areas:

  • Perform simple manual cutting operations on carbon steels using oxy fuel gas
  • Manually cut metal and metal alloys using oxy-fuel gas
  • Manually cut metal materials using plasma arc
  • Manually weld carbon and low alloy steels 1G/1F, 2G/2F, 3G/3F and 4G/4F welding positions using Manual Metal Arc Welding / Shielded Metal Arc Welding (MMAW-SMAW)
  • Perform Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) Welding also known as Gas Tungsten Arc Welding; (GTAW) Welding
  • Manually (semi-automatic) weld joints using the MIG/MAG (GMAW) process

Successful candidates are in a position to perform

  • Gas cutting
  • Arc welding
  • TIG welding
  • MIG welding

This certified qualification does not authorize the welding of welded joints subject to acceptance.
