In the examination participants prove their knowledge in the following areas:

• Awareness of the roles and responsibilities as  a peer support volunteer
• Ability to build relationships and communicate with patients
• Understanding of patients’ emotions and feelings regarding breast cancer and effective communication of them
• Understanding of the emotional impact of breast cancer and ability to offer suggestions for positive coping strategies
• Understanding of the breast cancer condition, its diagnosis and treatment
• Understanding of and respect for cultural differences that may exist in the patient’s region
• Understanding of the rehabilitation process

Successful candidates have the ability to build relationships with cancer patients and support them in coping with the disease.
