The test includes:

1. Low Blue Light (Software Solution)

   With the emergence of light-emitting diodes (LEDs), organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) technology, QLED and micro LED, and its increasing use in electronic display products, public interest and concern about blue light has increased. Additionally, with daily screen time continuing to increase and close-up use of devices occurring at all times during the day, users are being exposed to increasing amounts of high-energy visible (HEV) blue light from their devices.

   The display industry has developed two different methods to achieve the blue light reduction: a software solution and a hardware solution.

   The software solution usually reduces the blue light by lowering the blue channel emission or applying an anti-blue light filter.

   TÜV Rheinland has tested this product in order to ascertain the product can offer an effective reduction of hazardous blue light by adjusting the display color temperature.

   TÜV Rheinland has defined a catalogue of tests, which establishes the minimum standards for the low blue light content characteristic according to the product and manufacturer's information.

   This standard focuses on the ratio blue to irradiance and the ratio blue to other wavelengths.

   The testing criteria are based on TÜV Rheinland’s research and development, as well as industry standards, exceeding the industry standards.

   The blue light content was measured and evaluated in in the laboratory using spectro-radiometers.

2. Flicker Free

   TÜV Rheinland has tested this product to ascertain whether the display produces visibly and invisible flicker for the human eye and therefore strains the eye of the user.

   TÜV Rheinland has defined a catalogue of tests, which sets out minimum standards at various frequency ranges. The test catalogue is based on internationally applicable standards or standards common within the industry and exceeds these requirements.

   The product has been tested in the laboratory according to these criteria.

   The keyword "Flicker Free" confirms that the device has no visible and invisible flicker defined in this standard within the range of 0 - 3000 Hz under various brightness settings.
