Certification Program Title:International Medical and Health Tourism Professional (TÜV)
Admission Requirements:

The participants bring the following educational or professional background:

  • University degree in any discipline

    OR
     
  • Professionals working in medical, para medical and health care, tourism and hospitality industry.

    AND
     
  • Participation in the training course “International Medical and Health Tourism Professional” of the provider TÜV Rheinland Academy approved by PersCert TÜV. The course duration is a total of 90 hours. The presence is documented by the provider by signature of the participant. Admission to the exam is subject to a minimum attendance of 80%.

Required Competencies:

In the examination, participants prove their knowledge in the following areas:

  • Principles of medical tourism industry.
  • Understanding the global trends of health and wellness tourism market.
  • Laws and policy making, current practices and regulations in health and wellness tourism.
  • Medical terminology, medical tourism process, strategic planning, overall liaising, operations and business management.
  • International patient care, disruptive innovations & technology, health systems.
  • Client relationship management, business communication, team management in order to organise medical tourism operations.

Successful candidates have the competence in order to:

  • Handle medical tourism business.
  • Manage overall operations and liaising with medical providers, tourism & hospitality services providers, insurance companies and government.
  • Provide medical facilitation services; strategic planning, business development of health and wellness tourism products and services.
  • Achieve service excellence through outstanding customer relationship management, business communication and team management.
  • Apply ethics, regulations in healthcare industry and international patient care management.
  • Act as the travel and logistics partner for the care seeker, arranging air or road transportation, hotel accommodation, visa assistance and take care of pre-procedure and post-procedure care of medical tourist.
Recertification:

Participants demonstrate the relevance of their competence in a recertification process.
