The participants bring the following educational and/or professional background:

• Diploma in Engineering
  OR
• Professionals with minimum two years of working experience in safety related field
  OR
• Professionals with safety related training and certifications such as OSHA, NEBOSH and BSC etc.
  
  AND
   
• Participation in the training course “Safety Engineering Professional” of the provider ASTI (Al Shabaka Technical Institute), Dubai approved by PersCert TÜV. The course duration is 9 days with a total of 90 hours. The presence is documented by the provider by signature of the participant. Admission to the exam is subject to a minimum attendance of 80%.

• Written Exam (optional: Online Examination)

In the examination participants prove their knowledge in the following areas:

• Principles of Safety Engineering
• Fire Engineering and Explosion Control
• Electric Safety
• Computer Aided Hazards Analysis
• Safety in Construction
• Safety in Chemical Industry
• Industrial Safety
• Safety Management & Emergency Procedures.

Successful candidates have the competence in order to:

• Explain the scope and nature of engineering systems in the context of safety environments.
• Provide practical solutions to safety problems.
• Apply engineering techniques for a wide range of safety measures in a working environment.
• Take higher responsibilities within the Safety Management System.
• Describe the role and importance of organizational aspects and framing a structure for safety.

Participants demonstrate the relevance of their competence in a recertification process.
