Certification Program Title:International Welder - Steel (TÜV)
Admission Requirements:

The participants bring the following educational and professional background:

  • Obtain a valid welder certificate issued by the local accreditation body or government authority

  • Minimum of 1 year working experience in the related welding process
  • Minimum of six months training experiences in the related welding process.

Participation in the training course “International Welder” of the provider TÜV Rheinland Academy Greater China approved by PersCert TÜV. The course duration is 3 days with a total of 24 hours. The presence is documented by the provider by signature of the participant. Admission to the exam is subject to a minimum attendance of 80%.

Required Competencies:

The “International Welder - Steel (TÜV)” authorizes for practical and theoretical tasks in the welding process, in which the candidate is trained.

In the examination participants prove their knowledge in the following areas:

  • Welding Health & Safety knowledge
  • Electrical safety in welding operation
  • Fire and explosion protection in welding operation
  • Personnel protection and PPE in welding operation.


Successful candidates have the competence in order to: 

  • Identify steel fusion welding operation hazard sources
  • Read welding process documents and drawingsIndependently perform welding operations according to process requirements
  • Prevent steel welding defects.

The certificate “International Welder – Steel (TÜV)” is only valid with the appropriate welder certificate.


Participants demonstrate the relevance of their competence in a recertification process.
