Certification Program Title:Expert for OHS at work (TÜV)
Admission Requirements:
  • A Bachelor or Master Degree in engineering or management.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant health and safety experience.
  • Basic knowledge of management systems.
  • Admission to the exam is granted upon a minimum attendance of 80% of the total 15 teaching units.
Examination Components:
  • Written exam (Multiple Choice and Open Questions)
  • Assignment

  • Hazard identification and risk assessment
  • Methods for Hazards Identification – prospective and retrospective
  • Human Factors and reliability; Psychosocial Hazards

  • Work equipment (both portable and fixed stationary equipment)
  • Biological Hazards and Control
  • Chemical Hazards and control
  • Physical Hazards and control (noise, vibration, heat, cold, etc.)
  • Radiation/electromagnetical hazards and control
  • Fire hazards and control, Explosion prevention and Emergency Management
  • Electrical Hazards and control
  • Pressure equipment (gas bottles to chemical reactors and boilers)
  • Lifting equipment
  • Transportation (loads and people) and organisation of workplace transportation
  • Construction safety
  • Special risks - Laboratories, Warehouses, Lone working
  • Accident Occurrence, Investigation and Reporting
  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Occupational Hygiene; Stress
  • Labour medicine
  • Contracting third parties – companies and staff

Successful candidates have the competence in order to…

  • Explain the objectives of health and safety regulations
  • Identify common hazards in the workplace
  • Carry out an occupational risk assessment, taking into account the T-O-P principles and technical /legal requirements as required
  • Define the hierarchy of preventive measures in different workplace and put adequate control measures
  • Identify the sources of information and techniques needed to produce an adequate incident/accident, taking into account the relevant human factors; and record the findings of the investigation
  • Design a safe system of work, including workplace transportation
  • Promote good health and safety culture at the workplace
  • Draft health and safety policies and procedure
  • How to set up an OHS management system
Recertification:

In a recertification process participants have to prove their expertise is up to date:

  • By relevant work experience and / or  proof of successful participation in a relevant further training according to Bulgarian Health and Safety legislation
