• Successful participation in the Orthos GmbH & Co. KG’s 50 lesson unit “Curriculum for CMD as the focus of activity” in cooperation with the advisory body on orthodontics. Including the examination, 52 advanced training credit points are recognized.

Participation is considered successful if the participant proves to have attended a minimum of 80% of the curriculum and has successfully performed the practical exercise on a model.

In the examination participants prove their knowledge in the following areas:

• Diagnostic steps for the differentiation of CMD
• Links between CMD and types of headache, types of tinnitus, types of dizziness, neck pain back pain and effects on knees, ankles, stomach and voice, globus sensation
• Differentiation of a rising or descending causal chain
• CMD initial therapy
• Fundamentals of pain processing (acute/chronical)
• Therapy of single CMD-conditions
• Making of splints and billing practices.

Successful candidates are capable of diagnosing and differentiating a CMD in contrast to other disorders. They know therapeutic options and recognize the need for cooperation with the areas of ENT, orthopedics, neurology and psychology.

The participants prove that their competence is up-to-date in a recertification process.
