Admission Requirements
- Completed University degree in a relevant field such as architecture, civil engineering (Graduate or Master) and a minimum of 2 years of professional experience or course of study in a relevant field such as architecture, civil engineering (Bachelor) or
- A recognized qualification as master craftsman or technician in the building and construction sectors and a minimum professional experience of 5 years as well as
- Successful participation in the TÜV Rheinland Academy’s qualification “Expert for Damage to Buildings (TÜV)”, recognized by PersCert TÜV.

- Written examination (multiple choice)
- Preparation of a written survey as an assignment

Required Competencies

- Expert assessment and survey work
- Expert assessment and surveys in practice
- Building construction and cracks
- Foundation and soil mechanics
- Structural fire-prevention
- Damage to reinforced concrete work
- Sealing of building components at ground level
- Damage to the facade
- Indoor mold infestation
- Wood-based materials and wood pests
- Building acoustics, sound insulation, damage to drywall constructions
- Flat and pitched roofs
- Screeds and floor coverings
- Windows and doors
- Quotas and decreases in value
Equipped with a comprehensive knowledge in the building trade, “Experts for Damage to Buildings (TÜV)”, can work for courts and authorities, but can also be commissioned to prepare written surveys in the context of professional self-employment by companies or private individuals.
