Admission Requirements:

Alternatively between Admission 1 and Admission 2

Admission 1:

  • Completed the 3 year college degree in the major of science and engineering AND
  • A minimum of 1 year working experience in the related field OR
  • Maintain the bachelor degree of science and engineering with half year working experience in the related field AND
  • Satisfy the ISO 9712 vision requirements AND
  • The successful participation in the 67 hours training course ‘Penetrant Testing Personnel - Level 2 with TÜV Rheinland Certified Qualification’ at the minimum of 80% attendance

OR

Admission 2:

  • People obtained the same level qualification on ISO 9712 that recognized by ‘The Chinese Society of NDT’ can successfully attend the examination without the training session
Examination Components:
  • Written exam (muliple choice)
  • Practical exam
Required Competencies:

In the examination participants prove their knowledge in the following areas:

  • Select the Penetrant Testing technique to be used
  • Define the limitations of application of the Penetrant Testing
  • Translate Penetrant Testing codes, standards, specifications, and procedures into Penetrant Testing instructions adapted to the actual working conditions
  • Set up and verify equipment settings
  • Perform and supervise Penetrant Testing
  • Interpret and evaluate results according to applicable standards, codes, specifications or procedures
  • Carry out and supervise all tasks at or below level 2 of Penetrant Testing
  • Provide guidance for personnel at or below level 2 of Penetrant Testing
  • Report the results of Penetrant Testing
Recertification:
  • Proof of continued working experience with tasks relevant to penetrant testing in past 5 years
  • Satisfy the ISO 9712 vision requirements
