Admission Requirements:

Professional experience in laboratories as technician minimum 2 years or polytechnic or technical vocational school graduated.

Examination Components:

Required Competencies:

In the examination participants prove their knowledge in the following areas:

  • Able to read and understand the use of measuring tools, standard tools, standard documents, calibration work instructions in local language as well as in English
  • Able to understand the technical and metrological specifications of calibrated devices, as well as performing a technical assessment whether an instrument can be calibrated
  • Competent in performing calibration in the selected field and tools (either in mass, temperature or dimension field and two selected tools from each field)
  • Able to identify the uncertainty of measurement in the selected field and tools
  • Able to explain the quality system where technician works and able to follow the procedures related to calibration reporting results
  • Able to explain and follow occupational health and safety regulations at workplace

Successful candidates are able to perform operational activities for instruments/equipment used at workplace to ensure conformance to calibration standards. Successful candidates have the knowledge and skills of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures of calibration within a particular field (either mass, temperature or dimension) and two selected tools.
