Admission Requirements:

Pre-qualification according to § 8b EDL-G and BAFA-sheet “Energy audits according to EDL-G – Instructions on registration of persons carrying out energy audits” and successful participation in the TÜV Rheinland Akademie training course “Energy Auditor DIN EN 16247-1 (TÜV) recognised by the certification body. Admission to the exam is granted on a minimum attendance of 80%.

In the exam participants prove their knowledge in the following areas:

  • Fundamentals and objectives of energy audits
  • The norm series DIN EN 16247
  • The energy audit process according to DIN EN 16247-2-4
  • Norm parts DIN EN 16247-2-4

Energy Auditors DIN EN 16247-1 (TÜV) have all necessary knowledge of the norm requirements, in order to plan, prepare and carry out energy audits according to DIN EN 16247-1. They know the specific requirements for energy audits of buildings, processes and transport. They are in a position to calculate and evaluate the energy situation of a company systematically, as well as find potential for optimisation and its economic viability. They are capable of creating the energy report required by the Energy Service Act (EDL-G) or the Peak Balancing Efficiency System Regulation.
