Admission requirement for the training program is a valid certification as “Wound Expert ICW®“ and participation in a 168 hour theory and 40 hour comprehensive practical training offered by a training center recognized by ICW/TÜV and carried out according to the ICW guidelines.

In the examination participants prove that they have the necessary practical competence (social, methodical and specialist competence) required by the expert standard “Care of People with Chronic Wounds” (DNQP). They are capable of:

• planning, coordinating and evaluating a care and treatment process for people with chronic wounds
• health oriented support of everyday life and self-management for the individuals affected with the objective of improving their quality of life.

Recertification is necessary after 5 years by proving continued training recognized by the ICW and TÜV.
