Should no completed vocational qualification according to the German law of vocational qualifications or equivalent or higher qualification be available, a replacement training must be completed and proof of such be provided. The training must comprise a minimum of 24 teaching units in total (45 minutes each). Courses ary only recognized vrom training organizations, that can prove the required learning objectives for the relevant qualification to the certification body according to the normative document – Personnel Certification: operative employees in the “SGU” field.

Written examination (Multiple Choice – MC)
The examination is created from the examination question catalogue of the “DGMK”. It consists of 70 MC questions with 4 answer possibilities each, of which one is correct. 105 minutes are available to answer all questions. The examination is considered passed with 49 correct answers.

With the SGU examination operative managers have proven, that they possess the necessary knowledge in order to guarantee work safety on building sites and plant locations taking into consideration relevant safety, health and environmental protection aspects.

The certificate has a validity of 10 years. Subsequently an examination has to be taken again.
