Certification Program Title:ECOSHIFT/TÜV Rheinland Residential Rooftop PV Installer
Admission Requirements:
This training, certification, and registration program is for specialists in photovoltaic residential roof installations with the objective to enhance the overall "Safety – Quality – Performance" (SQP) of PV installations in Japan.

In order to qualify for the program, applicants have to participate in and pass the admission exam by TÜV Rheinland. The admission exam assesses acquired skills and knowledge level based on Ecoshift training standards and TÜV Rheinland’s minimum requirements in regard to required skills and knowledge in order to follow the training content.

Applicants who have already received training by Ecoshift and have passed the exam administered by Ecoshift beforehand - which includes skills and knowledge requirements as defined by TÜV Rheinland - are directly accepted for the training course by TÜV Rheinland. The course ends with a written examination.

In the examination the participants prove their knowledge in the following areas:

• Light sources and the environment
• PV system components and configurations
• I-V Performance characteristics
• Environmental effects on performance
• Introduction to measurement equipments
• Introduction to main PV standards and regulations
• Site survey and basic Energy Yield Prediction tools
• Verification (Inspection, Testing and Reporting)
• Troubleshooting

Installers who have successfully passed this program have demonstrated that they can apply acquired knowledge for pre-installation, installation and the operational life of a residential PV system.
