Certification Program Title:Qualified Playground Tester according to DIN 79161
Admission Requirements:
  • A completed vocational qualification and a minimum of three years professional experience relevant to playgrounds
  • Successful participation in the 5 day training course “Qualified Playground Tester according to DIN 79161” recognized by PersCert TÜV. Admission to the examination is granted upon a minimum attendance of 80%.
Examination Components:
  • Written examination (Multiple choice)
  • Practical examination
Required Competencies:

In the examination participants prove their knowledge in the following areas:

  • Legal fundamentals of the monitoring and maintenance of playgrounds
  • Safety and maintenance relevant requirements according to DIN 18034
  • Technical safety requirements and risk assessment according to DIN EN 1176:2008
  • Inspection, maintenance and safety management according to DIN EN 1176-7
  • Structure of a test report
  • Practical carrying out of an annual main inspection

“Qualified Playground Testers” fulfill the requirements corresponding to the regulations of DIN 79161. They can be commissioned as professionals for the inspection of new playgrounds or playground equipment or for subsequent regular inspections.

Recertification:

For recertification participants must complete a refresher course to extend validity.
