Admission Requirements
- Engineering degree or other comparable natural science and a minimum of 2 years practical experience with solar equipment,
or - A qualification as technician or master craftsman in a field relevant to solar technology (roofer, electrician, carpenter or similar) and a minimum of 3 years of professional experience with solar equipment,
or - Other vocational qualification and 5 years proven professional experience in the planning and installation of solar equipment.
Successful participation in the TÜV Rheinland Akademie training course “Expert for Photovoltaic Equipment (TÜV)” recognized by the certification body. Admission to the exam is granted on a minimum attendance of 80% of the 3 module training. - Engineering degree or other comparable natural science and a minimum of 2 years practical experience with solar equipment,

Required Competencies
In the examination participants prove their knowledge in the following areas:
- Building law, norms, rules and technology
- Costs and analysis of economic efficiency
- Recognition and evaluation of errors in photovoltaic equipment
- Surveys
“Experts for Photovoltaic Equipment (TÜV)” have mastered the accepted rules of engineering and can create sound surveys of equipment used for the production of solar energy.

Recertification
Participants prove that their competence is up-to-date in a recertification process.
