Admission Requirements:
Admission to the exam is granted when the following criteria are fulfilled:

Education and Professional Experience
• At minimum a degree from a University of Applied Sciences and a minimum of 4 years professional experience in an operative management function (with personnel and budget responsibility) or higher staff or consultancy function full-time or
• A successfully completed vocational training and a minimum of 8 years professional experience in an operative management position (with personnel and budget responsibility) or higher staff or consultancy function full-time.

Proof should be provided in the form of written documents confirming the required profile.

Training
The necessary extent of the training can be proven by:
• Successful participation in all modules of the training programme “Qualified Supervisory Board Member for Medium Sized Companies” or “Qualified Advisory Board Member for Medium Sized Companies” or “Qualified Supervisory Board Member for Public Corporate Governance” from Labbé & Cie or
• Successful participation in courses and presentation of the corresponding documents, in which the content of the course is shown to be equivalent to “Qualified Supervisory Board Member for Medium Sized Companies” or “Qualified Advisory Board Member for Medium Sized Companies”or “Qualified Supervisory Board Member for Public Corporate Governance”.

The extent of the training comprises at least 100 teaching units of 45 minutes each. The training must have been carried out within the last 2 years. Exceptions may be made in individual cases. The recognition of the equivalence of certificates is at the discretion of the certification body. The personnel certification body has the right to carry out an admission examination. Fees are charged for the checking of documents as well as the admission exam. Self-taught candidates can prove their knowledge in an admission exam at a fee.
Examination Components:
The examination consists of a case study with open questions, in which the necessary specialist knowledge and the corresponding competence are to be proven under supervision. Candidates receive two chosen case studies -one of which is to be completed. The corresponding questions are to be completed in writing within 3 hours. Tools may be used, providing the candidate completes the examination alone.

By fulfilling the admission requirements and completing the examination participants prove their knowledge in the following areas:
Law
• Corporate Governance and legal environment
• Compliance Management for Supervisory Board members and Managing Directors
• Risk management, Internal Control System, internal audit and Audit Committee
Strategy
• Plausibility checking of strategy by commercial due diligence
• Strategic technology management and technology due diligence
• Management Board and Supervisory Board, choice and appropriate remuneration
Finances
• Company financing, finance communication and rating
• Supervisory Board reporting and activity before and during insolvency
• Balance sheet policy, annual report analysis and audit report

Recertification:
An extension of the certificate of a further two years is possible at the end of the validity of the existing certificate. For recertification the following is required:
Successful participation in a one week refresher course or proof of corresponding specialist experience in relevant positions.
