Qualification and certification of PV modules and PV components

 

TÜV Rheinland tests and certifies photovoltaic systems and components according to various international standards such as the standards for safety established by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The standard used is specified in the certificate and the certified features appear in the test mark.

Testing and certification are voluntary.

The certification is relevant to traders, producers and consumers.

Selected test samples are tested in an accredited laboratory of TÜV Rheinland. In addition, recurring quality and product controls are carried out at the facilities of the manufacturer.

The certification is valid as long as the test specifications are up to date and the certificate has not been terminated, neither by the customer nor by TÜV Rheinland. The validity of the certificate expires if changes are made to the product.

Certified products may be labelled with a test mark.
