The TUV Rheinland PROOF certificate can be issued for products if the following pre-requisites are met:

As stipulated in the criteria catalogue the product has to

• fulfil basic requirements of safety and fitness for use
• meet the standard customary in the market in further relevant properties,
• significantly surpass the standard customary in the market for properties emphasized in the certificate

The requirements are defined in detail in a PROOF Criteria Catalogue specifically developed for the product and its emphasized properties. It also states the limit values and the test methods to be used.
